The palm oil company has plantations in Indonesia and focuses on the cultivation of oil palms; the processing of fresh fruit bunches into palm oil, palm kernel oil, and palm kernel cake; and the provision of bulking as well as logistics services. On 15 December 2021, Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced its requirements for issuers to provide climate-related reporting based on the recommendation of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and disclosures on board diversity. All issuers must now provide climate reporting on a “comply or explain” basis in their sustainability reports from the financial year commencing 2022. With TAC’s experience in both SGX and GRI’s requirements for sustainability reporting, TAC assists our clients to build business resilience by anticipating potential climate-related issues, leading to the development of action plans and hence fulfilling SDG 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production and SDG 13: Climate Action. Home / Projects Projects Annual Gas Pipe Inspection at Jurong Island June 15, 2021 All Projects, Urban Resilience TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was appointed to carry out the annual inspection of gas pipe installation in Jurong Island. This annual inspection is a requirement of the Gas (Supply) Regulations to ensure no leakage or corrosion to the gas installation and that gas supply remains safe. Upon completion of the annual inspection, a Certificate of Fitness will be issued if the gas installation is found to be in good operating condition. This is the third consecutive year that our Client engages us in this service, and we are pleased to be able to deliver satisfactory and quality services that remain consistent through the years. As such, companies see the need to assess the company’s waste stream and conduct a waste audit for their operation. As part of the Client’s sustainability efforts, TEMBUSU Asia (TAC) will assist the Client in developing a framework to ensure the traceability of various categories of waste and end-of-life treatment by the vendors. This project is unique as there is limited standards and references in the logistic industry on the best practices. The Client was concerned about the reputational risks associated with its waste vendors and how they can monitor or influence their vendors’ actions related to sustainability issues. TAC supported the client in the analysis of international waste management practices and provided innovative solutions that would help the client to reach their sustainability goals. As a recurring Client that TAC has been working with for several years, this client required us to adapt our reporting approach to align with the latest changes in GRI standards and SGX requirements. We conducted an in-depth analysis of sector-s pecific topics and engaged in comprehensive surveys with key stakeholders to understand key concerns and material topics for the Client. We also kickstarted the Client’s TCFD journey, laying a solid foundation for future reporting. Through close collaboration between our Client and TAC, we successfully delivered the Client’s sustainability report integrated with TCFD disclosure s, fully compliant with local guidelines. Home / Projects Projects Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) Advisory for distributor and manufacturer of stationery and paper products in Singapore April 4, 2022 All Projects, Urban Resilience TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was engaged by a distributor and manufacturer of stationery and paper products to provide advisory services in fulfilling NEA’s Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) requirements. The regulation requires affected companies to report their primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging that has been circulated into the Singapore market. This reporting will help to lay the foundation for Singapore’s transition towards an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework for packaging waste management by 2025. TAC assisted the Client in understanding the reporting requirements, provided a method of collecting and presenting packaging data, recommended strategies and solutions in developing a packaging 3R plan, and guided the client in a successful NEA submission. We are proud to assist businesses in transitioning towards the circular economy, thus establishing a zero-waste nation in Singapore and fulfilling UN SDG 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production. Home / Projects Projects Feasibility Studies at Mandai Mangroves and Mudflat May 23, 2019 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting together with our partners were awarded the consultancy services for feasibility studies at Mandai mangrove and mudflat by the National Parks Board. Being one of the last few remaining mangroves and natural shoreline of Singapore, the future 72.8 ha park shall seek to preserve its ecological condition with minimal disturbance to the site’s ecosystem and biodiversity. Mandai mudflat is an important place for the birds with its rich grounds of molluscs, crustaceans, and worms during the low tide while the birds roost at the adjacent Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. The consultancy services comprise of the ecological study and survey of the existing site, hydrodynamic and ecological modelling, to the planning and design of the 72.8 ha park. An Environmental Impact Assessment will also be carried out to mitigate any possible impacts for the park development. This park will also serve as an important green node at the northern part of the Railway Corridor as well as part of the eco-discovery corridor in the Park Connector Network’s Round Island Route. Home / Projects Projects Training on “Disaster Risk Reduction” August 19, 2019 All Projects, Capacity Building TEMBUSU Asia was awarded a project by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Singapore and UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) to conduct a 4-days training programme on “Disaster Risk Reduction” (DRR) for mid-senior level foreign government officials in September 2019. This programme focuses on Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, covering topics of vulnerability risk assessment, DRR financing, strengthening policy & decision-making process, strengthening governance & capacity building, climate change mitigation & adaptation measures, urban planning, and building public health resilience through pandemic preparedness. The training programme is intended to provide the participants with a deeper understanding of how to work on the best strategic DRR action planning in accordance with the climatic conditions and prevalent disasters of their respective countries. Home / Projects Projects EMMP Services for Communication Systems Installation at Mandai, Singapore June 10, 2024 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) was engaged to provide environmental consulting services for installation of a communication system in several sites at Mandai. These sites are part of the Mandai Rejuvenation Project (MRP), which covers 35.4 hectares. The MRP is adjacent to the Central Catchment Nature Reserve which is known to be ecologically sensitive. Hence, TAC’s role as an environmental consultant is critical in ensuring that the installation works do not adversely affect sensitive fauna, particularly due to the generation of noise and dust. TAC’s team of ecologists and environmental consultants recommended measures to be implemented and conducted regular site visits to ensure the measures are effective in reducing the impacts. Throughout the project duration, the EMMP was adapted in an iterative process. As part of regulatory compliance, an inspection of the natural gas pipe is required to ensure its soundness and thus enhance the sustainability of production safety. Inspection of the gas pipeline will be carried out to check the condition of the gas pipe installation (e.g. for any signs of corrosion and leakages) and to observe any significant pressure drops to ensure the safety of the plant. Home / Projects Projects EMMP for Marine Structure Construction in Western Part of Singapore April 23, 2021 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting was appointed to advise on the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) for the construction of a Near Shore Outfall structure and associated Gabion structure for a plant in the western part of Singapore. The scope of the project focused on the monitoring and management of surrounding seawater quality with specific recommendations and mitigation measures outlined in the EMMP document. Moreover, a monitoring and reporting mechanism was set up to assess the effectiveness of recommended mitigation measures. The EMMP will help to mitigate any adverse impact generated from the project’s activities on seawater quality, resulting in overall benefit to the marine biodiversity of the surrounding area.
