- Tianjin Eco-city Zero Waste Plan
Home / Projects Projects Tianjin Eco-city Zero Waste Plan August 12, 2020 All Projects, Urban Resilience TEMBUSU Asia was appointed to develop the Zero Waste Master Plan for the flagship Sino–Singapore Tianjin Eco-city (SSTEC), one of the 16 cities in China chosen to pilot the Zero Waste programme. Being a collaboration between China and Singapore sets the SSTEC apart from the other cities with this project poised to become a model Zero Waste Eco-city in China. Building on SSTEC’s eco- and smart city status, its master plan will take references from Singapore’s own Zero Waste Master Plan and expand on its pilot Implementation Plan. The master plan will incorporate the understanding of the present Key Performance Indicators, datasets on waste stream mapping and projection, and current waste management practices. TAC identified 4 key waste streams in SSTEC (namely domestic, food, horticultural, and construction & demolition wastes) and developed a strategic transformation master plan with 3 approaches: circular economy, technology innovations, and stakeholder engagement. Each approach includes strategies and initiatives customised to SSTEC’s local context to address various challenges and limitations unique to each waste stream. The Zero Waste Master Plan will be developed with a roadmap projected over a 15-year timeline and built on quantifiable and achievable targets for the short, medium, and long-term milestone year of 2025, 2030 and 2035, respectively. - Professional Engineer’s (PE) Review and Endorsement for Oily Wastewater System of IWMF
Home / Projects Projects Professional Engineer’s (PE) Review and Endorsement for Oily Wastewater System of IWMF September 13, 2024 All Projects, Urban Resilience TAC was engaged by an Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) located at the Tuas View Basin Site to review its design of the oily wastewater system. The facility mainly consists of material recovery facility, food waste treatment facility, waste-to-energy facility and sludge incineration facility. TAC’s role was to review the design of the oily wastewater system of IWMF, including the design calculation, process flow diagram, piping and instrumentation diagram and the general layout. A detailed gap analysis was also carried out to identify possible improvements to the current design, and recommendations were given to these areas to make sure they comply with regulatory and general requirements. Subsequently , the report was submitted and endorsed by a Professional Engineer. #SDG11 #Sustainable Cities and Communities #Sustainable Development Previous Back Next
- Environmental Services for the Reconstruction of a Water Treatment Plant in Singapore
Home / Projects Projects Environmental Services for the Reconstruction of a Water Treatment Plant in Singapore August 26, 2021 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting was engaged to provide environmental services for the reconstruction of an existing water treatment plant in western Singapore. The plant is surrounded by important biodiversity, including birds and mammals of conservation significance inhabiting the forests, and rare aquatic fauna inhabiting the streams. An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will be carried out during the design stage. The EIA work includes the establishment of baseline conditions within the study area via field surveys of environmental aspects including biodiversity, water quality, air quality and noise quality. The collected data would be analysed to assess the environmental impacts associated with the project site based on the proposed development plan. Given the importance of the site for biodiversity, the preparation of an Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) with recommended mitigation and monitoring measures will help to mitigate the adverse impacts generated during the construction stage and will lead to the project implementation in an environmentally sustainable way. TAC will also support the Client during the construction stage in overseeing the implementation of EMMP and reporting requirements. TEMBUSU Asia Consulting is committed to supporting the sustainable development of the infrastructure project and will assist the Client in developing the project in an environmentally responsible manner. - Development of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) across Singapore
Home / Projects Projects Development of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) across Singapore May 20, 2024 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) developed several Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) for projects across Singapore. These projects include the redevelopment of a recreational park, the construction of ticketing booths, and the reinstatement of land. EMMPs aim to ensure that environmentally sensitive receptors (i.e., humans, animals, and plants) around the project site are not negatively impacted by the project activities. TAC first identified the surrounding sensitive receptors and conducted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). TAC then outlined the necessary measures to minimise potential impacts on the environment. These include measures to protect biodiversity and maintain regulatory standards for air quality, water quality, and noise. To ensure that the measures were implemented, regular site visits were conducted and the EMMP was adapted in an iterative process. One of the projects was in close proximity to coastal and forested habitats which host biodiversity. One mitigation measure to minimise disturbance to the swiftlet colony located nearby was to potentially avoid major works during the swiftlet breeding season. Overall, the effective implementation of EMMPs ensured that the projects were carried out in a sustainable and environmentally-sound manner. #EMMP #SDG11 #SustainableCitiesCommunities #SDG15 #LifeOnLand #EIA Previous Back Next
