- Site Assessment and Environmental Impact Study in Singapore
Home / Projects Projects Site Assessment and Environmental Impact Study in Singapore March 4, 2020 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting together with our partner is awarded a consultancy service work comprising of three sites in the north-eastern part of Singapore where transportation facilities are planned. The scope covers the Site Assessment and Environmental Impact Study (EIS) works. The development of Site 1 includes the construction of a multi-storey development with underground transport operational facilities. The scope includes site investigation & assessment of the environmental impacts due to the proposed works within the former landfill site and design of the associated environmental control infrastructure. The development at Site 2 and Site 3 includes road works, a viaduct, and other ancillary works within an Identified Biodiversity Site (IBS). EIS is to be carried out to study impacts on the IBS due to the proposed road projects. The works include the collection of baseline survey data covering biodiversity, water quality, and noise quality. The data would then be analyzed to assess the environmental impacts associated with the construction and operational phases of the site based on the proposed development plan. This assessment would be the basis to recommend mitigation measures appropriate to the impacts assessed. An environmental management and monitoring plan would then be prepared to mitigate the adverse impacts during the construction stage. Previous Back Next

The MPR was introduced as part of the nation-wide waste management policy to kickstart Singapore’s trajectory towards Circular Economy. This policy has brought businesses’ attention to waste resource management and solutions, such as preparing a waste management approach, measuring 3R (Reducing waste, Reusing and Recycling resources) performance, and navigating associated risks and circular opportunities. The project scope includes guiding the Client through the challenges of meeting requirements set out in the MPR policy and providing advice on how to prepare the necessary information required for the report submission. Through this service, TAC supports our Client in their transition to circularity, a crucial step towards preventing the worst effects of climate breakdown and resource scarcity. Previous Back Next
- EMMP Services for the Design & Construction of a CRL Interchange Station and Tunnels, Singapore
Home / Projects Projects EMMP Services for the Design & Construction of a CRL Interchange Station and Tunnels, Singapore January 19, 2022 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) has been engaged by a client to provide Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP) services for the development of a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station and tunnels in Singapore. This interchange station will be part of the upcoming Cross Island Line that will connect eastern and western Singapore and serve as the alternative to the existing East West Line. As the CRL will be fully underground, the EMMP services for this project put more emphasis on physical aspects of the environment such as soil and groundwater quality, ground-borne noise, and vibration. During the pre-construction stage, TAC developed a detailed construction EMMP framework that outlines appropriate mitigation and management measures to ensure that environmentally sensitive receptors (i.e., humans, fauna, and flora) around the project site are not negatively impacted by the project activities. The Construction EMMP framework would serve as the basis of all implemented mitigation measures throughout the construction stage. TAC would then assist the client in assessing the conformance of their activities with EMMP requirements. Our services will ensure that the CRL interchange station and tunnels are developed in an environmentally sustainable manner and contribute to our efforts in fulfilling SDG9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. - Retention Design Check for Steel Shelter for Employee Rest Area
Home / Projects Projects Retention Design Check for Steel Shelter for Employee Rest Area June 24, 2024 All Projects, Urban Resilience One of TEMBUSU Asia Consulting’s (TAC) services in the built environment sector is to assist clients with structural check and design, followed by application of TOP and CSC when the work is completed. TOP & CSC TOP refers to Temporary Occupation Permits, it is issued by BCA to certify that the project is near completion with some minor outstanding work, but the building is safe to be occupied. As for CSC or Certificates of Statutory Completion, it is issued by BCA to mark the full completion of the project based on the authorities’ requirements. For smaller projects, the developer may choose to skip the TOP and apply for CSC directly when the project is completed. For this project, TAC acted as a Qualified Person (QP) of the project. Design check was performed on an erected steel shelter. TAC also proposed some modification structural work and made submission to various authorities for approval. Finally, TAC provided supervision during the construction phase of the modification work and application for CSC after the modification work was completed. In performing this service, TAC contributed to SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth, which includes promoting safe and secure working environments for all workers and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. #SDG8 #SDG11 #SustainableCities #SustainableCommunities #BuiltEnvironment #Engineering #SiteInspection #Compliance Previous Back Next

- Development of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) across Singapore
Home / Projects Projects Development of Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) across Singapore May 20, 2024 All Projects, Environmental & Ecology TEMBUSU Asia Consulting (TAC) developed several Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMPs) for projects across Singapore. These projects include the redevelopment of a recreational park, the construction of ticketing booths, and the reinstatement of land. EMMPs aim to ensure that environmentally sensitive receptors (i.e., humans, animals, and plants) around the project site are not negatively impacted by the project activities. TAC first identified the surrounding sensitive receptors and conducted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). TAC then outlined the necessary measures to minimise potential impacts on the environment. These include measures to protect biodiversity and maintain regulatory standards for air quality, water quality, and noise. To ensure that the measures were implemented, regular site visits were conducted and the EMMP was adapted in an iterative process. One of the projects was in close proximity to coastal and forested habitats which host biodiversity. One mitigation measure to minimise disturbance to the swiftlet colony located nearby was to potentially avoid major works during the swiftlet breeding season. Overall, the effective implementation of EMMPs ensured that the projects were carried out in a sustainable and environmentally-sound manner. #EMMP #SDG11 #SustainableCitiesCommunities #SDG15 #LifeOnLand #EIA Previous Back Next
