Workshop on EIA and EMMP: “Developing an understanding of EIA & EMMP process”
July 16, 2021
All Projects, Capacity Building
TEMBUSU Asia Consulting was invited to conduct a one-day capacity building workshop on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP). The participants consisted of officers from a Government Agency, EPC Contractor, and consultants of the project team.
The purpose of this training programme is to explain the fundamentals of executing an EIA and EMMP and how these tools can assist developers and EPC Contractors to manage potential adverse environmental impacts from infrastructure development. Comprehension of these topics is important especially in light of the increasing public awareness of environmental and climate change issues, which contribute to the greater scrutiny of infrastructure projects within environmentally sensitive areas in Singapore. As such, it is vital that a thorough understanding of the EIA and EMMP process is developed among all stakeholders, including Architects, Engineers, Sustainability Practitioners, EHS Practitioners, Construction Professionals, Environmental Control Officer, and Government Officers.
In the near future, we hope to provide this training for other stakeholders in the Built-Environment and Infrastructure sectors. With such a training programme as our contribution to sustainable development through SDG #4 Quality Education and SDG #17 Partnerships for the Goals, we hope to build our partner’s capacity and minimize the environmental impacts from various development.
