ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STUDY (EIS) FOR AN APARTMENT RE-DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN SINGAPORE
An EIS is being conducted for an apartment re-development project which is located adjacent to a petrol station. As per National Environmental Agency requirements, any new developments sited within 50m to existing petrol station are to be assessed for potential environmental impacts arising from the activities at the petrol station.
Relevant activities at the petrol station include bulk fuel transfer, storage tank venting, motor vehicle filling and fugitive emissions which have the potential to deteriorate air quality and create potential impacts on the nearby residential development. Vehicle movement for refueling and the presence of repair & maintenance activities on-site may cause noise impacts. The EIS will cover the environmental monitoring of vapor fumes and noise to assess the potential impacts of the petrol station activities on the re-development. The EIS report will provide recommendations to reduce impacts with respect to air quality and noise to acceptable levels, as required by relevant environmental standards.
